About Caspari
WHO WE ARE:
Caspari is a respected publisher of exquisitely designed and printed paper products, with a reputation earned over the past seventy years by reproducing the work of established artists and museums from around the world. Drawing inspiration from fine art, textiles, ceramics, and interior design, Caspari creates stylish, colorful table settings and provides everything to plan the perfect party for all of life's occasions. In the belief that good design should be accessible, we offer a wide assortment of beautiful items for entertaining and gifting at affordable price points.
While the company has grown considerably since 1945, it continues to work with the same European printers and suppliers who originally collaborated with H. George Caspari and are known for their vibrant inks and gold bronzing. Caspari prides itself on working with the best suppliers for each product line and produces a large number of items in America, including paper plates, gift wrap, stationery, and desk accessories. In 2001, Caspari opened its first boutique at 7 rue Jacob in Paris, and its flagship store opened its doors in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2005.
ARTISTS, ARTWORK & MUSEUMS:
Caspari maintains a philosophy of presenting a wide selection of designs from world renowned museums and independent artists ranging in style from traditional to contemporary. Throughout the product line, Caspari showcases licensed artwork from such institutions as the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Royal Horticultural Society, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, as well as outstanding private collections and archives. By licensing artwork for publication, Caspari makes it possible for beautiful pieces of art to be seen by people the world over and the royalties generated ensure that the museum collections are preserved and that independent artists can continue to create new artwork.
ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT:
Caspari is committed to producing our goods with environmentally responsible raw materials and processes. One of our key suppliers, Mohawk Paper is a leader in the use of renewable resources with 38% of the electricity used in manufacturing coming from wind power. They also work closely with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to ensure that the fiber they use to make our paper comes from managed forests. In addition, Caspari uses only water-based dyes for our napkins and plates. The bleaching of tissue for our napkins uses oxygen instead of chlorine, eliminating the use of an environmentally harmful chemical. Our Swiss printer of over 50 years, Graphische Anstalt J.E Wolfensberger AG, is an FSC-certified printer and operates a production plant in Birmensdorf that qualifies as a certified carbon neutral site by First Climate. The energy used to run the printing machines is recycled to provide heat for the building. Caspari is printing only on FSC-certified paper with Wolfensberger.
